The Iowa Shakespeare Experience is a fun-loving, Bardtastic bunch! We love to party – especially for a great cause!
AND truly: we have as much fun planning our terrific special events as we have in attending them!
Our volunteers enjoy terrific committee camaraderie plus the chance to make a real difference. And we have lots of fun activities.
Join our team of volunteers which takes on special events. Here are some of the things we do:
- Design events and invitations
- Plan and create table center pieces
- Set up for events (ok, and also tear down!) – a fun process where your decorating instincts can take center stage!
- Invitation-addressing parties- with the ISE, almost everything is a party- we always have a LOT of fun at these – usually over supper, breakfast or light lunch!

This is a great way to express your leadership in the cultural community in your own special style.
We support you as you host Bardastic events in your home, backyard, in a restaurant, or a place of business or park!
If you host a party as a fundraiser for the ISE, you will have a great time – and the ISE will help you with all the details, from creating and mailing invitations, to helping set up the event!
Here are a few great ideas:

- Midsummer Night’s Eve dinner or brunch
- “ShakeSpirits”™ Halloween event
- Renaissance Revels or “A Winter’s Tale” Holiday event
- Romeo and Juliet Valentine’s Social

OTHER WAYS TO PARTY WITH THE BARD BUNCH:
Team up with us: Corporate entertainment and reward programs: Dinner and a show!
- We offer a unique and affordable way for Corporations to have a company party, reward great employees, or provide exposure and marketing.
- Purchase a big main tent at the Festival in our elegant plaza, and host anything from a Cocktail Reception to a sit down dinner.
- After your event, your guest will be escorted to your own special VIP section for the show – and they can return to the tent during intermission for such treats as strawberries and champagne!
- Work with our caterer (some of the most legendary caterers in the Metro routinely work with us) or provide your own!
- Your company can have great signage in the main plaza, and can also arrange for special rates on program ads, exposure in mainstream media ads – even for display banners.
Team up with us: Non-profit fundraising opportunities: Dinner and a show!
- The ISE offers extraordinary and unique opportunities to our fellow non-profits to join us with an exciting collaboration!
- Host a fundraising party in our elegant upper plaza – for 25-125!
- From Cocktails or a Wine party to dinners, this area can hold it all! Afterwards, your group can enjoy its own private VIP seating area for the show – and if desired, you can arrange for them to return to the tent during intermission.
- Your organization can have great signage in the main plaza, special rates for program ads, and even arrange for banners or exposure in Festival ads in the mainstream media.
- Work with our own caterer (we have top notch legendary area caterers on our Board!) and/or volunteers or provide your own.
- Regarding the financial component, there are several great options: we can provide a straight “rental” of space to you pretty affordably - - OR, for a particularly unique yet impactful approach to non-profit fundraising, we can arrange for a collaborative appraoch, where the ISE would "split" a “share” of proceeds (even create a shared mutual “Friendraising” event) – a great way to introduce new people to both our causes as well as to share risk and maximize reward! All details can be fully customized.
Finally, a related way to get in with the Bard Bunch is to consider hiring us for a Private Party for Birthdays, Anniversaries, special occasions.
